Mommy Chic Monday: Lucky FABB Day 1

I was MIA most of last week as I was busy finishing up my DIY project and prepping my outfits for Lucky FABB over the weekend and then I ended up changing my mind at the last minute thanks to the arrival of the H&M Spring catalog arriving at my door on Wednesday. As soon as I saw the faux leather shorts on the inside cover I knew I had to have them and went on a mission early the next morning at my local store. Luckily for me, there was one pair in my size and I happily scooped them up and rushed home to pull together an outfit.

Sweet Pea was also on spring break last week so there wasn't much happening in the way of fashion around our house so I was excited to put on some fancier clothes for a few days and hob knob with the many stylish bloggers that were invited.

I'll do a full recap of my experience later in the week but wanted to share my first day ensemble.
I have to admit, I LOVED what I wore. I felt super comfortable and like myself. There were over 300 very well put together women there rocking the latest trends and while I was proud to be among them I was also happy that I didn't look anything like them. Sometimes it feels beyond good to stand out from the crowd.

I went with what I like to call "suburban gangster chic". I was reppin' my hip-hop roots with the graphic tee while keeping it classy in a tuxedo blazer + laser cut strappy stilettos and adding a little edge with my faux leather shorts. I cuffed the blazer to give it a more relaxed vibe and added plenty of Stella & Dot bling to complete the look along with a bold lip

Thanks She Said He Said for snapping my photos!!
