Hair Rules : Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural (spon)





African American women are serious about their hair. I mean like....SERIOUS. As in it's a multi-million dollar industry thanks to us. Hair is a huge part of who we are and from a very young age we are somewhat defined by it. Good hair vs. bad (nappy) hair has long been a topic in many a African American household. But lately there has been a movement towards going back to 'natural' hair. For some,"natural" might mean only wearing your hair in it's naturally curly/kinky state but I take it to mean not using any chemicals to get it straight.
I have been relaxer free for about 5 years but continue to press it out so it's straight (and easier for me to manage) so I guess I 'technically' fall into the "natural" hair category even though I press my hair straight. The downside to not having a relaxer is that it's hard to find quality products at mass market stores at an affordable price point that cater to our type of hair. Needless to say I was super excited when Pantene announced they had a new line specifically targeted toward African American woman and their various hair desires. Introducing Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural and Pantene Pro-V Truly Relaxed.



First let's talk about how jazzed I was to receive full size samples of this line and I couldn't wait to start using it! I tried the Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner on my son's hair the day it arrived and have been so pleased with the results! His natural curls come to life after a wash and are easy to comb through so there are no more tears after a bath! The curl defining Custard smells delicious and makes his hair so soft and his curls so fluffy! We just love it!
I took the shampoo and conditioner with me to the hair salon on Wednesday and had my stylist use  it on me before she braided me up to put in a full weave.
My hair was so soft and fluffy she asked if she could borrow it to use on other customers! Ha!
