Saturday Style Notes: New Year, New Collection.... Same Worries?

Now that the Holidays are over retailers are leaning heavily into the season of love and making it quite apparent that Valentine's day will be here before we know it.
Target is no exception.
Fresh off the heels of their failed Neiman Marcus collaboration they will be launching a brand new line of limited edition pieces from famed designer Prabal Gurung.
I must say I am pretty excited about it. Much more so than I was Jason Wu or the Neiman's collab. (although I do love my DVF yoga mat!)
If you follow me on Instagram (user: fromcarpools2cocktails) you know I first caught a glimpse of this collection in the February InStyle.
The bright floral dress caught my eye and I was intrigued to see what the rest of the pieces looked like. Fortunately for me, Target decided to share the lookbook with Elle magazine.

(view the whole lookbook here)

The entire collection (about 80 pieces) has an overall feeling of love and all the emotions that go along with it. Even with a heavy floral print there is nothing super fussy about these pieces. The bright pops of color  and black accents make it less cutesy and more polished.

I really love the color palette he chose and that everything just pops and is a complete & cohesive collection!  If I was to purchase anything the above sampling is pretty much where my hard earned duckets would be dropped.

The whole collection is set to hit stores on February 10th and run through March 23rd. I must admit I'm keen to see how well it does and if Target has since learned it's collaborative lesson but if  past singular designer collabs are proof (Jason Wu, Missoni) I'm sure it will be a sweeping success.

What do you think of the collection? Any pieces jumping out at you?

  1. I am LOVING those multi-colored pointed flats! Woo! Good ol' Target.
