Lately....

My whole 'blogging schedule' has been off as of late!
And I use the term "schedule" loosely because as anyone with an infant will tell you - the only kind of schedule you really care about is that of sleep!
But I always feel as though writing regularly puts me back on my game and gets me going so I need to stick to it.

Of course the holiday in the middle of the week has thrown me for a loop but I'm working on getting back to it.
Anywho- we've just been chillin out around the house lately.
It's been kind of awesome.

We went to Old Navy's $1 Flip Flop Sale and scored a few pairs for the kid, the elusive black bikini top for me and.......

Pink skinnies!!

I was pretty jazzed as I had seen them a few days before in my size and was hoping they would still be there.
To me, if they were, it was a sign I should buy them.
They were. So I did.
Then I had a quick bout of buyers remorse and questioned if I should keep them......all replies said YES!!
including the husband's so I am.

We've watched a TON of movies.
(Project X, Chronicle, Sherlock Holmes, Act of Valor, Wrath of the Titans, Mirror Mirror)
Tried 3 new recipes.
Made this last night!!! so tasty!! Whoa... Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)

Easy week night meal! Garlic & lemon chicken with green beans & red potatoes! Just toss it in the oven.

Carson has graduated from Rice Cereal to Avocados!

Yum.

We're planning on busting out the Baby Bullet today and pureeing some peas for the next level.
Next week: a trip to the Farmer's Market for some fresh squash, zucchini and sweet potatoes.
Sweet Pea started swim lessons on Monday and is making great improvements already.
She is making me so proud by overcoming her issues about putting her face in the water and floating on her back.
We will be practicing all summer.

4th of July was great and spent with cousins on my dad's side of the family.
They live about 45 minutes from us and it was nice to visit with them and to just be a guest for a change.
Not to mention they have a spectacular home/property complete with a pool, tennis court, vegetable garden and putting green.
The Hubby has the next few days off so we'll enjoy having him home.
He and Sweet Pea are having a Daddy/Daughter date at the movies so me & Baby Bear are relaxing at home.
We have a family picnic on Sunday for my husbands side and  that is going to be epic I'm sure.
There are so many families that will be there so it'll be good to see all the kids and how they favor from generation to generation.

I'm excited about all the yummy food too.
The last few weeks have flown by and it feels like even though the summer is just getting going it's almost over as well.
Does anyone else feel that way?
I'm planning on enjoying each day as it comes and trying to let go of the 'little stuff' that doesn't go right (bad napping for the baby bear) and focusing on all the things that do (quality time as a quartet).

What have you all been up to lately?
